We have these mutant patches of clovers around here... One day I found 17 four-leaf clovers in one go ^^ There are clovers stashed away in books all over the place, there are at least another 5 outside that I've left... I finally went and looked up how four-leaf clovers come to exist~

It is debated whether the fourth leaflet is caused genetically or environmentally. Its rarity suggests a possible recessive gene appearing at a low frequency. Alternatively, four-leaf clovers could be caused by somatic mutation or a developmental error of environmental causes. They could also be caused by the interaction of several genes that happen to segregate in the individual plant. It is possible all four explanations could apply to individual cases.

*yawn*

According to legend, each leaflet represents something: the first is for hope, the second is for faith, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.

Anyway, yesterday I was checking my mutant patch #2, and I found something I haven't found in quite a while:

A five-leaf clover! Score! I feel extra lucky now.
