Josh was playing Fallout earlier, and the graphics were waaaaay fucked up. After a reboot nothing would come up, so he pulled the console apart to clean it out. Still got nothing, so he took it apart some more... The cd rom is over heating the graphics processor, though we never got the Red Ring of Death... Anyway, after some finagling, he managed to get it working again...

Hahahahahhahahaha, Frankensixty is it's name now.

Well, heres your problem!

Whoever designed the 360 should get an award for EPIC FAILURE.

[livejournal.com profile] normal got a Xbox 360 this week and of course immediately set upon it to play backups... Anyway, I tried it out last night, played the Beautiful Katamari demo (kinda sticky when turning) and I can't wait for the game to come out~~ Also noted the Fable 2 preview! omg I didn't know they were coming out with a second Fable previously, I hope it's as awesome as the first.

I also started playing Dead Rising. When news of the game very first came out we were both pretty excited about it and might have been one of the few reasons why we wanted a 360... But GOOD GOD I can't read any of the text! .___. You would think this wouldn't be too important in a game where you kill zombies and take their pictures, but you have other missions to complete within a time period (I'm guessing, since, you know, I CANT READ THE TEXT), and someone constantly 'calls' you on the radio, but the text is so small, and is white (or green) on black, so I have to lean closer to the TV and squint to sort-of read what's going on. SuxxorsX10000000! Please, folks, if you ever decide to design a video game, make sure your text is legiable on non-HD TVs too, okay?

However, despite this handicap, I like the game (but I'm glad we didn't buy it, the unreadable text deal is a major drawback imo). Josh loved the lawn mower. I want to go play more today (lol I loved running over the zombies with the lawn mower), but I didn't get anything done yesterday, so I have to make up for that! Time to clean and stuff! Still sick but I'm loading up on Mucinex-D... Seems to be helping, but I'm still wondering why I'm having allergy problems in the first place.
I usually forget to post about my dreams, though usually it's simply because they're not too interesting, but this morning's was odd.

I was playing a video game, and was in it simultaneously. The playing part of this is not important, just a bit of oddness. It (the game) was like Myst, but underwater- I had to swim through tanks and tunnels and complete small quests and figure out puzzles. The tricky part was that I still had to breathe, and would have to come up to the surface for air. I managed to get quite far (though I can't remember anything specific, I know that it was fairly complex for a game my mind would be able to come up with), but at one point I surfaced at the wrong area, and had a time limit to get to where I actually needed to be. So I dived again and headed in the right direction, but I suddenly couldn't see and didn't get enough air the last time. I started floating back up, but couldn't hold my breath any longer, so I tried to suck in as hard as I could

And woke up. I was still holding my breath when I came to, which was weird, cool, and scary all at the same time. I hope this doesn't happen again because I rather like breathing 8)

What's amusing is that ever since Sonic the Hedgehog, I've always hated video games that have that 'Look you're underwater and you still need to breathe' trick. Why can't everyone be like Mario and just be able to do breathe underwater? Why do my dreams have to incorporate strange themes and ideas from video games? At least I wasn't killing my friends-turned-into-zombies with a steel pipe this time.

Reminder: I need to make myself a new Card Fighter icon. If anyone else wants one while I'm thinking of it, let me know.
